A Bridge to Somewhere
In September, after 480 days of continuous operation, the traffic lights swaying above bridge number 2309, where Route 44 crosses Norfolk Brook, switched to blinking red. Over the following days, the new bridge and approaches were paved. Then both lanes were opened and the traffic lights went dark and were removed. Recalling backups that occasionally exceeded 37 vehicles, and a tiny window of time to get through the light, Norfolkians expressed relief that at last Norfolk is a one-blinker town once again.
