Spaghetti Dinner

A fundraiser dinner will be held at the Battell Chapel by Botelle School’s class of 2009 on May 2 from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. The meal will consist of spaghetti with meatballs, salad, rolls, cupcakes and a drink. $5 for children and seniors, $7 for adults ($25 family cap).

Rabies Clinic

A rabies clinic will be held at the Norfolk Fire Department on May 9 from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Bring a current rabies certificate for a three-year vaccination, otherwise you will receive a one-year vaccination. Dogs must be on a leash and cats need to be in a carrier. The fee is $15 cash. Bird Walks
The Norfolk Land Trust is sponsoring two migratory bird walks in May. The first will take place May 9 at Haystack State Park and the second will be held May 16 at the flood control dam on Route 272 North. Both meeting times are at 7 a.m. A few extra sets of binoculars will be available, but please bring a set if you have them. Annual Sixth Grade Car Wash & Bake Sale

Botelle School’s graduating class will be holding their annual car wash and bake sale on Saturday, May 23 from noon until 3:00 p.m. The bake sale will be held at the Robertson Memorial and car wash at the National Iron Bank. The fee for a car wash will be $5.

Norfolk Land Trust Invasive Species Workshop

Betsy Corrigan will be conducting an outdoor workshop on how to identify and control invasive species on Saturday, May 23 at 11 a.m., behind Botelle School. Betsy is a long time member of the Connecticut Invasive Plant Working Group and has updated information on how to deal with these problem species. Memorial Day Activities

The annual Memorial Day parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. on May 25. The parade starts on Maple Avenue and ends at the World War One and World War Two memorial. Donuts and balloons will be passed out after the parade at the Norfolk Fire House. The road race will begin on Mountain Road at noon, ending at the town green. The fire department’s Explorers will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks.
