And The Trooper Walked Away

accident
It was just after 7 a.m. on Feb. 26 when State Trooper Robert Hazen was driving east on Route 44. He had just passed the Norfolk Corner Store when he met a westbound truck hauling a cement mixer. The tail end of the mixer swung out and hit the cruiser, knocking it sideways. The crash almost threw Hazen from his car. He opened the door and walked away from the scene of the crash. Although shaken up, he declined help, but was persuaded by his superiors to be driven by Norfolk Ambulance to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. He was later released without being treated.
