Town Meeting with State Legislators
State Senator Kevin Witkos and State Representative Roberta Willis will present a legislative update at the Norfolk Board of Selectmen’s meeting on Tuesday, April 2 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall. The legislators will discuss the current legislative session and the proposed state budget. The event is open to the public. Forest Lyceum Series Continues
New England Cottontails were once abundant, but now are being considered for protection under the Federal Endangered Species Act. Learn about the collaborative efforts underway in Connecticut to prevent listing and how interested landowners can become involved in helping with this effort. As part of its Forest Lyceum series, Great Mountain Forest will present Judy Wilson, Wildlife Biologist, Connecticut DEEP Wildlife Division, speaking on The New England Cottontail Initiative in Connecticut, at the Douglas Library in North Canaan on April13. A reception will be held at 4 p.m., followed by the presentation at 4:30 p.m.

Earth Day Presentation
The Norfolk Conservation Commission and Aton Forest are co-hosting a showing of the documentary Division Street. This film describes the tremendous impact roads have on the planet and includes examples of the “greening” of the highway system that hold promise for preserving wildlife corridors. Tom Tyning, author of Stokes Guide to Amphibians and Reptiles, will give a short talk before the film. The event will be held at the Norfolk Library on Earth Day, April 22, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Community Dance
The community is invited to attend a dance at the Battell Chapel on Saturday, April 6 from 8 to 11 p.m. Tickets to the Motown Madness dance are available for a suggested donation of $20 each and are available at the Church of Christ office or at the door. BYOB. Light snacks and setups will be provided.

Lions Club Family Breakfast
On Saturday, May 4, the Norfolk Lions Club will offer a family breakfast at the Botelle School cafeteria from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Pancakes, scrambled eggs bacon, sausages and muffins will be served, as well as coffee, tea and juice. Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Family of four is $15 for two adults and two children.

Rabies Clinic
The annual town-wide rabies clinic will be held at the Norfolk Fire Department on May 5 from 10 a.m. to noon, for a fee of $20. Cats must be in cages and dogs on leashes. Innoculations will be administered by Kim Maynard, DVM, from the Litchfield Hills Mobile Veterinary Clinic. For more information, contact Animal Control Officer Glen Wheeler at 860-542-6978.

EMR Training

Volunteers Needed
150 volunteers are needed for Project Homeless Connect, to be held at Coe Park and the Torrington Armory on Friday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sponsored by the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Homeless Outreach Team, the event is designed to deliver free resources to people and families experiencing homelessness in northwestern Connecticut. Some of the resources to be offered include information on housing, medical and dental help, employment, veteran services, and much more. Land Trust Bird Walks
The Norfolk Land Trust is holding two bird walks in early May, on Saturday, May 4 at 8 a.m., meeting at the Lover’s Lane entrance to Barbour Woods, and Sunday, May 5 at 8 a.m., meeting at Station Place and carpooling to Bartholomew’s Cobble.
