Many Thanks
Thank you to all of our loving friends who comforted us through this very difficult time, and to Pastor Olsen’s congregation, along with the residents of Meadowbrook, who helped make the service so wonderful!
It is very heartwarming to see so many friends coming together to say goodbye to Steve, and very comforting to know so many care.
Thank you.

Let’s Avoid Shaky Projections
A few months ago, voters in Norfolk were urged to support regionalization primarily because our state government would be cutting education funding for towns like ours. That projection, it turns out, was not correct. Buried at the end of the an article on page 11 of last month’s Norfolk Now, Susan Dyer reports that the 2013-14 state funding grant for Norfolk is “equal to last year’s level or $381,414” and in fact, “Governor Dannel Malloy has proposed increases to the Education Cost Sharing grants that would allot Norfolk an additional $90,000” [emphasis added]. Thus, instead of any reduction, Norfolk would see 24% increase! As the regionalization conversation continues, let’s avoid making important decisions based on shaky projections of the future.
