Selectman’s Corner

Permits for Tobey Pond and the Transfer Station are available for purchase during the month of June in the Town Clerk’s Office. If you are new to town or a renter, you must bring proof of Norfolk residency. Stickers must be affixed to the lower passenger-side corner of the windshield. Permits for both Tobey Pond and the Transfer Station are $35 (Tobey permits for those 65 years of age or older are just $20).
Tobey Pond officially opens on Friday, June 21. There may be occasions before that date when the pond will be open for an afternoon or a weekend, but that is totally dependent on the availability of lifeguards and the weather.
June is also the month to license your dogs.  Male and female dogs are $19 each. If the dogs are neutered or spayed, the licensing fee is just $8.
Household Hazardous Waste Day is Saturday, June 22 from 9 a.m. until noon at the Falls Village Public Works Garage. This is a great time to get rid of household cleaners, fertilizers, bug sprays and almost anything that you cannot dispose at the Transfer Station. Contact the Selectmen’s Office at 860-542-5829 for more information.
