Ornamental Plant Exchange on July 5
Once again, the Conservation Commission is offering a free native plant to residents who take out an invasive ornamental. The invasive species we are looking to replace are winged euonymus (burning bush), autumn olive, Russian olive, Japanese honeysuckle, Japanese barberry, and buckthorn.
Bring proof of removal to the Farmers Market on July 5, and pick out a lovely native shrub to replace it. Each participant is limited to one plant, first come first served while supplies last.
The Norfolk Conservation Commission was formed in February 2009. Members are Shelley Harms, Chair, John Anderson, Vice Chair, Adair Mali, Secretary, Libby Borden, Elizabeth Potter, Molly Ackerly and Nash Pradhan. The native shrubs are being donated by Pride’s Corner Farm.
