Flower Painting Demonstration
In conjunction with The Artist’s Garden: Persephone Returns, a show of botanical illustration at the Norfolk Library from March 1 to 31, artist Leslie Watkins will offer a flower painting demonstration. Free and open to the public. At the Norfolk Library, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, March 2.

Norfolk Land Trust Climate Resiliency Workshop Rescheduled
The Norfolk Land Trust has rescheduled the climate resiliency program for Saturday, March 7 at 12:30 p.m. at the Norfolk Curling Club, 70 Golf Drive. The workshop, held in conjunction with the Open Space Institute, will focus on “Climate Resilience for Biodiversity: New Science on What Places to Protect and What Land Trusts Can Do About It.” Coffee will be served at noon, prior to the event. Irish Band Lúnasa at the Library
On Thursday, March 12, at 7:30 p.m. the Norfolk Library will host a lively evening of traditional Irish music and fare with the all-star quintet Lúnasa, dubbed “the hottest Irish acoustic group on the planet” by the New York Times. While still maintaining Celtic musical traditions, their inventive arrangements and bass-driven grooves have steered Irish acoustic music into surprising new territory. Norfolk Lions Spring Pancake Breakfast
The Norfolk Lions will hold a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, March 21 at the Botelle School Cafeteria from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for anyone under 12. Proceeds will go to the Norfolk Lions Club Scholarship Fund.

The Elm City Winds
On Saturday, March 28, at 3:00 p.m. the Elm City Winds blow into the Library with their varied repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary. This active woodwind quintet is now in its third decade performing not only music written for woodwinds but also their transcriptions of music written for everything else, from solo piano to full orchestra. Yoga and Joint Exercise for Senior Citizens
Two free programs are offered to seniors as an antidote to cabin fever: a yoga class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:45 a.m. at the Church of Christ; and an easy joint and chair exercise session every Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at Meadowbrook. The best things in life are free!

Deadline for Arts Scholarship Approaches
The next deadline for Battell Arts Foundation scholarships is on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Applicants must be residents of Norfolk or Colebrook and in grades 3 through 12. College Scholarships Available
The Norfolk Connecticut Children’s Foundation offers college scholarships to high school seniors who are Norfolk residents. Completed applications are due no later than April 25, 2015. The application form is available on the NCCF website, www.norfolkchildren.com (click on the “Apply” tab and download the Scholarship Application).
