Botelle Beat
By Principal Matt O’Connell
On April 10, Botelle was jumping to the beat of great music for a great cause. Our PE teacher Mr. Anderson organized a Jump Rope-A-Thon to benefit the American Heart Association. Our staff and parent volunteers helped run the jump rope stations—and and parent volunteers provided healthy snacks of cut-up fruit. We even had a special guest, “Heart Safety Man!” who talked to the children about healthy heart habits.
The Botelle drama program put on another wonderful show on March 27—“The Wind in the Willows!” Our music teacher, Elizabeth Allyn, coordinated the program. A great big thank you goes out to Mr. Bruce Connelly for writing and directing such a fun play. The “Botelle Players” performed a daytime show for the school and an evening show for parents and family members. Thank you to the Battell Arts Foundation which has helped sponsor the program for many years!
There will be a spaghetti supper to benefit the Botelle Community Garden on May 8, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Students, parents, family members and the wider community are invited to support this great cause. In addition, the Botelle School annual spring bookfair will be open from Wednesday May 6 to Friday May 8.
We are all looking forward to seeing the PTO sponsored program: Global Safari Animals on May 13. Global Safari will take the students on an interactive and captivating geographical journey to the seven continents throughout the globe. Global Safari will showcase one live animal ambassador from each continent and cultural artifacts from around the world for a fun and educational learning experience.
