Local cookbook authors Bruce Weinstein and Mark Scarbrough have a lot to celebrate, as their 2014 book “Vegetarian Dinner Parties” was nominated for three major awards in the two main U.S. cookbook competitions. The book won the People’s Choice Award and was a finalist in the Health and Special Diet category at the International Association of Culinary Professionals award ceremony on March 29, and was a finalist for a 2015 James Beard Foundation Award for Vegetable Focused & Vegetarian Cooking. Weinstein and Scarbrough will be at Great Barrington’s Chef Shop on May 17 from 1-3 p.m. for a cooking demonstration and book-signing of “The Great Big Pressure Cooker Book,” published in February 2015, and their newest book, “The Boozy Blender,” comes out on May 23.
