Selectman’s Corner

By Sue Dyer

Household Hazardous Waste Day is Saturday, June 6 from 9 a.m. to noon in Falls Village at their Public Works Department. Tickets are available by contacting the selectmen’s office at 860-542-5829. This is a great opportunity to safely dispose of all those containers labeled as toxic, flammable, reactive or corrosive. If you have paint, there will be bins available for paint disposal.

June is the month to purchase your dog licenses, Tobey Pond and transfer station permits.

The fees for Tobey Pond are $50 per vehicle (if you are 65 and older, the fee is $25). Transfer station permit fees are $55 for the first vehicle and $35 for a second vehicle. The fees to register your dog are $8 if it has been spayed or neutered, and $19 if it has not. You can download the applications by visiting norfolkct.org or you can contact the town clerk’s office at 860-542-5679.
