Every year, proceeds from the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department’s Memorial Day road race go to the William F. Kelley Memorial scholarship fund. The $500 scholarships were officially awarded on August 3, at the fire department’s monthly meeting. A total of eight Norfolk students were honored this year. Road race chairman Ron Zanobi said that this matched the largest group that has received scholarships in the past.
