Milestones—Barbara Mulville
Barbara Mulville
Barbara Ann Mulville, an active and devoted member of the Norfolk community, died in early December at age 84.
She was born on August 24, 1931, in Greenwich, Conn., where she graduated from high school as the “most athletic girl.” She played softball for the Raybestos Girl All-Stars, a team known today as the Connecticut Brakettes.
In 1962 she and her family moved to Norfolk, where she immediately became active in the community. She served on the Board of Recreation and Board of Education, was a member of the Norfolk Ladies Auxiliary, a volunteer EMT and a member of the Lions Club. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club at the Immaculate Conception Church, and for over 20 years she drove a school bus for Whalen’s Bus Company.
A son, Michael, predeceased her. She is survived by her children Maggie, Bonnie, Billy and Helen and by seven grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the hospice program at Foothills Visiting Nurse & Home Care, the Norfolk Volunteer Ambulance or the Immaculate Conception Church.
