Assessment Appeals and Problems With the DMV

The state Department of Motor Vehicles continues to experience technical difficulties resulting from its computer conversion of last August. Residents current on their motor vehicle taxes have been having problems registering their vehicles. Before going to the DMV, you might want to go to www.ct.gov/dmv to check on the status of your vehicle. If you do find out that there’s a problem, contact the tax collector, 860-542-5140, and she will be able to assist you in getting a computer release.
