Up on the Roof

The tiling of the library roof is proceeding apace. The crew from Alden Bailey Restoration Corp. began with the roof of the children’s wing in early December and continued with the north and east sides of the library roof. Installation of the tiles begins at the eaves and continues up to the ridge tiles, which are put on last. For the most part, the crew has been able to work without interruption. They workers are not much affected by weather—as long as it’s not actively snowing (which hasn’t been a worry so far) or extremely windy. Alden Bailey hopes to be finished with the roof tile installation in February, at which point they will start on the repair of the second-floor wall tiles.
