While reading last month’s article on the EDC’s efforts to restart the Corner Store, I couldn’t help but think that we all could and should do more to support those businesses already here in town.  Especially in these slower winter months when there are fewer tourists and weekenders to contribute to our local economy, we all should consider buying that gift or gift certificate locally or meeting friends for a drink or meal here in Norfolk, instead of out of town.   A thriving community benefits all of us. The alternative could be more empty, depressing storefronts.
