3-Day Watercolor Open House Offers Free Lessons to Artists Both New
Many of us have wished we could paint and many have tried to do so. During all three days of Weekend in Norfolk, WaterWorks is offering a lecture, exhibits, demonstrations and free lessons to watercolorists of all skill levels, including a special workshop for kids and a final incentive: prizes for the best works. Some of the lessons will take place on Station Place with its iconic view of Haystack Mountain. Others will be held on the second floor of the National Iron Bank. Leslie Watkins, the guiding spirit behind WaterWorks, is an accomplished artist with many credits to her name.
Weekend in Norfolk, August 5, 6 and 7, is a three-day, town-wide art, music and nature festival. Events run the gamut from art exhibits to nature walks, world-class music to a watermelon-eating contest, a quilt show and boat-building demonstrations to the opportunity to get married on the Village Green, and new events are still being added. Visit weekendinnorfolk.org for details.
