Brazilian Dance and Music Sweep Weekend in Norfolk to Faraway Places
Oh, wow, did you know? The quiet northwest corner of Connecticut is about to reverberate to drums and the clack of heels as the two principal artists of the dance troupe Ginga Brasileira perform at the library during Weekend in Norfolk! Dancer Thelma Ladeira and drummer/dancer Efraim Silva will be presenting a colorful, crowd-pleasing repertoire of Afro-Brazilian dances on Friday evening, August 5 at the Norfolk Library. It is one of the first in a special weekend-long series of events presented in Norfolk, Conn., for eveyone to enjoy August 5, 6 and 7.
Weekend in Norfolk, August 5, 6 and 7, is a three-day, town-wide art, music and nature festival. Events run the gamut from art exhibits to nature walks, world-class music to a watermelon-eating contest, a quilt show and boat-building demonstrations to the opportunity to get married on the Village Green, and new events are being added all the time.
