On August 12, Norfolk resident Tara Yard was arrested for first-degree larceny and subsequently released from custody on $50,000 bail. Yard, who is an assistant town clerk, is accused of defrauding a local woman whom she was working for as a part-time caregiver. She was arraigned in Bantam Superior Court on August 29. A further hearing is scheduled for September 13.
