Vera Susan Ellis, 62, of Norfolk, passed away on September 23, 2016. The daughter of William and Edna Alley, Ellis was born on January 18, 1954, in Meriden. She attended Winsted schools and Northwestern Regional 7.

Susan married Joe Ellis in 1972, and their life together continued for 44 years. She is survived by her husband, their daughter Jessica and several grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Roger Alley of Troy, N.Y., and sisters Donna Travaglin of Winsted and Kim Plante of Colebrook.

Susan Ellis loved country music and spent a great deal of her time as a housekeeper for several Norfolk residents. She lived in Norfolk for 20 years and very much enjoyed being a part of the town and getting to know the people here.

A Christian burial will be held in South Norfolk cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Susan’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
