Maple Avenue Residents Will Host Trick-or-Treating Again This Year
Princesses, pirates, space travelers and zombies are expected to throng Maple Avenue again this year in search of candy in the waning hours of Monday, October 31. The Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department will shut the street to through-traffic from 5 p.m. to 7 or 8 p.m., depending on the weather.
Donations of candy for the households in the trick-or-treating area are welcomed. They can be left at collection points at the National Iron Bank, the Norfolk Library and Botelle School.
Residents of Maple Avenue, Terrace View and Emerson Street can sign up at the library for a share of the donated candy.
One resident of Maple Avenue annually counts more than 250 youngsters knocking at her door for treats. About 35 households take part in the event.
