Berkshire Country Store Plans Late December Opening
The Berkshire Country Store is scheduled to open at 6 Station Place in late December, according to a press release by Norfolk’s Economic Development Commission (EDC).
The work of converting the generic retail space into a functioning food service and grocery store has been assisted, under the direction of store owner Ryan Craig, by many local professionals and contractors: Joe Hurst, a board member of the Norfolk Foundation, helped manage and coordinate the complex process; Kate Johnson provided architectural planning and code-compliance guidance; Lisa Atkin, another Norfolk Foundation board member, contributed interior design services; Mark Burke and Chris Peterson trained their carpentry skills on elements of the store’s décor; Mike Pallone of PK Painting added color.
Overall demolition and construction supervision was led by Scott Reeve, working in concert with Nortfolk plumbing contractor A. B. Bazzano, energy efficiency expert Keith Sleeper of JK Energy and electrician Shawn Finney.
Craig is effusive in his recognition of the help provided to him by the EDC: “Their countless hours of dedication, persistence and passion for this town and its economic wellbeing will ultimately provide Norfolk residents with the opportunity to buy a gallon of milk and grab some necessary grocery items within its borders.”
