Milestones—John Villios

John N. Villios, of Norfolk and Brooklyn, N.Y., died suddenly on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016. He was 65 years old.

Raised on Long Island, John was a graduate of Hamilton College and Vanderbilt University School of Law. He ended his long career as the New Jersey District Counsel of the Small Business Administration.

villiosJohn loved his family, Park Slope and Norfolk, and he enjoyed following professional sports, especially the N.Y. Islanders. He was an enthusiastic golfer, was learning to curl, loved reading and history, and was training to become a member of MI-6. He was looking forward to being a full-time resident of Norfolk and fully participating in the community.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Kriegel, daughter Kate, son-in-law Dustin, sister and brother-in-law Margaret and Roy, and lovely month-old grandson Max, the light of his life.

There will be a celebration of John’s life in New York City in January as well as a service at the Church of the Transfiguration in Norfolk in early June. Memorial contributions may be made to the Norfolk Library, PO Box 605, Norfolk CT, 06058; Norfolk Lions Club Ambulance, PO Box 399, Norfolk CT, 06058; Doctors Without Borders; and the HDSA—Greater NY/NJ, 505 Eight Avenue, New York NY, 10018. The Kenny Funeral Home in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.
