Local Group Offers Scholarships

The Norfolk Connecticut Children’s Foundation is offering grants to Norfolk students.  The Children’s Foundation, located in Norfolk, was chartered in the mid 80’s to support the town’s young people. “Our goal is to give financial support to those who would not otherwise be able to participate in civic, cultural, social and education activities,” says Rod Perkins, one of the Foundation’s directors. “We are grateful that we have been able to reach hundreds of Norfolk’s young people over the years.” The Foundation grants are awarded on a quarterly basis.

Students graduating from Northwestern Regional High School and or Oliver Wolcott Technical High School, and matriculating to a college or university are eligible. Those interested in obtaining a grant can do so by getting in touch with their school guidance officers. Completed applications from Northwestern pupils must be returned by May 1 and those from Oliver Wolcott should be returned by April 23.

The grants are awarded on a quarterly basis. Anyone interested in further information can write to the Foundation at Box 322, Norfolk, CT, 006058.
