Selectman’s Corner: Ordinances, Projects and Meetings
By Sue Dyer
After all the recent snow fall, we felt a reminder was in order that when driveways are plowed there is a Town Ordinance, ß126 Article I, which prohibits the dumping, shoveling, or piling of snow onto public roadways. If anyone is found to be in violation of this ordinance, they will receive a written notice from the town, and violators could be subject to a $100 a day fine. Leaving snow in the roads creates a hazard to passing motor vehicles, so please do the best you can to avoid doing this.
The plans for the ambulance/trooper building are coming along and the preliminary project can be viewed on the Web at http://www.norfolkambulance.com. The Emergency Building Committee will have a public hearing in the near future to present the project to the town, after which there will be a town meeting to accept or reject the project. These dates have yet to be determined, but there will be notices posted as to when the meetings will take place, and a legal ad will also be published for the town meeting.
Besides the hearing and town meeting on the ambulance/trooper building, there will be a budget hearing on Monday, April 30, and the annual town meeting on Monday, May 14 at Botelle Elementary School.
