Happy Birthday Miss Bella!

On April 11, the Norfolk Library Associates hosted a birthday celebration in honor of library founder Miss Isabella Purple Eldridge. The Botelle School Chorus, led by Elizabeth Allyn, gave a short recital of period songs from the mid 1800s. Homemade cake and punch were enjoyed by all. Town historian Cay Fields told those present, “She never married, never had children. But really, when you think about it, all the children of Norfolk are her children.” — Julie Scharnberg
