Norfolk Man Accepts Plea Bargain in Drug Case

A Norfolk resident accepted a plea bargain in Litchfield Superior Court on May 8, pleading guilty to possession of narcotics with intent to sell and agreeing to serve two years in jail with no probation. Ricky Hamilton, 48, was sentenced at a court hearing on June 22 [today].

Hamilton was living with his 77-year-old stepfather, Louis Cammilletti, when police arrived at Cammilletti’s raised ranch on Ashpohtag Road with a search warrant on Dec 30. Seized during the search were scales, a smoking pipe, pills, assorted firearms and 18 grams of crack cocaine.

Cammilletti, who was convicted on narcotics charges in 1987 but served a suspended sentence, pleaded not guilty to weapons anddrug charges and was ordered to return to court July 10.
