A Town Web Site Subcommittee Has Been Formed
As last reported, First Selectman Sue Dyer is backing plans to have the Town of Norfolk’s Web site updated, and to that effect, a new subcommittee has been officially established. The Web Site Committee is under the aegis of the Economic Development Committee, and has been requested to work on a plan for a town Web site and present it to the Board of Selectmen.
Officers on the new subcommittee are Jon Riedeman (Chair), Mary Fanette (Vice Chair), Josh DeCerbo (Acting Secretary), and nine other members. The group has already met and is engaged in redesigning the current site.
“We have brought together a wonderful group of talented people,” says Riedeman, “and we are shooting for a date in October to unveil our work to the selectmen.”
Initial plans are to create a new home page, a page for businesses and a community calendar page. “If they like what they see, we will launch it and give the town a chance to take a look,” says Riedeman. An ongoing process, new pages will be added as they are completed and have received the stamp of approval.
“We are hoping that this new site will become a great resource for the community,” says Riedeman, “providing access to information about town government, services, events about town, businesses and even a daily weather forecast.”
For the business page, committee members will be contacting the local business community, and those who would like their company to be listed will be asked to submit content to the subcommittee.
