TOWN GOVERNMENT

Election Day is November 6.

Selectmen meet at Town Hall, the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

Wetlands Agency meets at Town Hall, the first Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

Planning & Zoning meets at Town Hall, the second Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

Board of Finance meets at Town Hall, the second Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

Regional Board of Education meets in the library at Regional #7 High School, the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 7 p.m.

Economic Development Commission meets at Town hall, on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m.

Recreation Department meets at Town Hall, the fourth Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

Norfolk Sewer District meets at Town Hall, the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

 

COMMUNITY GROUPS

Christmas Tree Lighting with Santa on November 24 at 6 p.m. at the Town Green.

Opening Reception at the Artisans Guild for guest artists Rich Dann and Robin Yuran on November 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. Dann will be exhibiting architectural drawings and Yuran will show handmade books of poetry during the months of November and December. The local artist of the month is Janet Marks, who will be exhibiting hand wrought jewelry.

Women’s Open Night Basketball will take place Monday evenings from 7 to 8:45 p.m. at the Botelle School gym. All skill levels welcome. For more information, please contact Sarah Kasacek at 542-5849.

Preschool Playgroup on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. at Battell Chapel for preschoolers and their caregivers.

Norfolk Library

Art Reception for Margot Trout on November 4 from 4 to 6 p.m.

Library Association will hold it’s regular meeting on November 12 at 12 noon.

Concert by Sherman Chamber Ensemble on November 9 at 7:30 p.m.

Seminar: Shakespeare with Jim Kraft on November 10 at 4 p.m.

Children’s Author Breakfast: Sally Lloyd-Jones on November 17 at 10:30 a.m.

Art Lecture: Contemporary Art with Carroll Dunham on November 17 at 5 p.m.

Christmas Tree Lighting and Carol Sing on November 24 at 6 p.m.

Documentary: “Racing Against the Clock” on November 26 at 7 p.m.

Corner Club: Musician Joseph Fire Crow on November 28 at 3:20 p.m.

Veteran’s Day All Sing at the Hall of Flags on November 9

1st Marking Period ends on November 9

No school in observance of Veterans Day on November 12.

Board of Education meets on November 14 at 7 p.m.

Report Cards are distributed on November 16.

Early Dismissal on November 19 and 21 for parent teacher conferences.

Thanksgiving Break from November 21-23.
