A Line Up of Vintage Vehicles Like None Other
The Norfolk Classic Community Car Show will feature original and restored gems
By Colleen Gundlach
Have you ever seen a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow? What about a Mazda Miata or a Mercedes Benz 280SE? Would you like to view a Chevy 3100 that’s older than you are? Rumor has it that all of these beauties will be on display at this year’s Classic Community Car Show on September 16 at the Yale Music Shed parking grounds.
The day promises to be an exciting one, with food, a raffle and live music by Andy Stiles and the High Octanes. There will be activities for young and old and lots of fun and time to spend with your neighbors.
Sponsored by the Economic Development Commission and supported by National Iron Bank, the show’s proceeds will go to benefit the Norfolk Lions Club Ambulance and Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department. Last year’s event raised more than $10,000 for these emergency service providers.
Judging will be done by “People’s Choice” and one car will be awarded a Best of Show trophy. The trophy and a photo of the winning car and owner’s name will be on display at National Iron Bank for one year, until the next winner fills the spot.
Admission is free. Registration to exhibit your car is $15. For more information or to have your own vintage vehicle on display at the show, contact Marie Lowe at marie@mi-ms.com or call at 860-307-1487.
