Paul Madore was sworn in as the new selectman on June 27 by Town Clerk Linda Perkins.

Selectman Sue Dyer resigned from her position on the Board of Selectmen on June 1, according to First Selectman Matt Riiska. She has moved to Missouri to be with family.

The remaining selectmen, Riiska and Alexandra (Sandy) Evans, held a special meeting of the Board of Selectmen on June 27 to name Dyer’s replacement. They chose Paul Madore, who will serve out the remainder of Dyer’s term, which ends in November 2019.

Madore, a Democrat, currently serves on the Planning and Zoning Commission and on the newly formed Energy Committee.
