One Piano, Four Hands
Norfolk’s own Linda Bell and Maura May will join forces on the library piano on Sunday, Sept. 16, at 5 p.m. Four-hand piano playing has a surprising cultural history. In the 19th century, as pianos became more affordable, arrangements for four hands brought a large repertoire of music into the middle-class family home. Music publishers arranged symphonies, operas and chamber music for four hands, and composers such as Schubert, Schumann and Brahms also wrote music for four hands. Please register for this free concert by calling the library at 860-542-5075.
