Home Love Closes Shop

Home Love, an accessories and gift shop that opened at the end of April, closed its doors at the beginning of July. Owner Emily Irwin says that there just wasn’t enough foot traffic to make it worthwhile to staff the shop. “I didn’t find people out walking about,” she says. “In fact, that part of the street felt like a raceway at times. The trucks and cars sped by at high speeds.” However, she adds, “I will say that everyone I did meet in town and that stopped in was super friendly and commented on how much they loved the shop. So that part of it was a really good experience.” Irwin is working on the possibility of reopening in New Marlborough next spring, most likely in the barn behind Cantina 229, the restaurant she owns with her husband.
