Someone’s Got to Do It
The conglomeration of signs of different sizes and styles that were once strewn about on the corner of Maple Avenue and Greenwoods Road has been eliminated. In an effort to tidy up the look of that area, the selectmen decided to move the Maple Avenue street sign to the opposite side of the street to make room for new signage for the Church of the Transfiguration and Manor House Inn, while adding Museum and Parking signage to both sides. In this photo, that’s Norfolk’s hands-on first selectman, Matt Riiska, putting up the signs that had just been delivered. “I wanted to get them up before the holiday weekend,” he says, and the town crew doesn’t work on Friday afternoons. So I just did it myself.”
