Two New Firefighters in Town
The Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department is proud to announce that Casey Ludwig and Justin Zarzycki have successfully graduated from the Firefighter 1 program at Litchfield County Regional Fire School. The Firefighter 1 program is 213 hours and includes training on ladders, hose advancement, ventilation, live fire training and Hazmat training. Once the class is completed, candidate becomes a certified firefighter and can perform all duties of the NVFD, including interior firefighting. Over the past 12 months, the NVFD has added nine new adult members to the ranks and three new teenage cadets, making their roster the largest the department has had for many years.
