Julius (Jay) Jesse Pilbin, 96, of Norfolk passed away on April 1, 2020. He was the loving husband of the late Dorothy S. Pilbin. He was born on July 18, 1923  to the William and Lillian Pilbin. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Jan. 3, 1942, as an apprentice seaman, and upon his honorable discharge on Oct. 21, 1945, he had attained the rank of boatswain’s mate. He worked for the state of Connecticut as a park ranger serving the Northwest Corner and retired in 1974.

After retirement he established Jay’s Lawn Service in Norfolk. For many years he was an active member of the Norfolk Curling Club and served as president. He is survived by his son, Roy Pilbin of Norfolk; grandchildren David Pilbin of Norfolk and Jennifer Pilbin of Sandisfield, Mass.; great-grandchildren Logan Jones, David Pilbin Jr., Elizabeth Pilbin; siblings Madeline Dawe of California and Red (Diane) Pilbin of New Hampshire; sister-in-law Louise Zanardi of Burlington Conn.; and many nieces and nephews.
