Norfolk Food Pantry News

The Norfolk Food Pantry is now more accessible and open longer hours. It is  located in the back foyer of the Congregational Church and is available during office hours, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday  through Friday), most of the day on Sunday and at other times when the church is open for activities.

The pantry is stocked with non-perishable food items such as pasta (canned and boxed), cereals, tuna fish, peanut butter, jams, jellies, granola bars, applesauce, condiments (mayo, ketchup, mustard, salad dressings), desert mixes and canned goods, including soups, fruit and vegetables. When you come, check out “The Clothes Closet” up the stairs and down the hall to the right — offering free gently-used clothing.
Donations are always welcome and can be dropped off at the church Tuesday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., or deposited in the collection bins at the Norfolk Library, Berkshire Country Store, National Iron Bank and Norfolk Town Hall..
Monetary donations are welcome as well and can be made by clicking the donate button at www.norfolkctucc.org.

Tobey Pond is Open

With the warmer weather here, we have opened Tobey Pond for the season. The hours are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. We are opening earlier to allow those that go to Tobey for their morning swim to do so with fewer people on the beach.

We have a full staff and all have been informed of the rules: practice social distancing of at least six feet, wear a mask when closer than six feet, and stay home when you are not feeling well. And no, you do not have to wear a mask while in the water.

Tobey parking stickers are on sale through the Town Clerk’s office. This year they will be $60 and $40 for individuals over age 65. You will need a sticker after July 1.

Please be courteous to others and especially to the life guards.
