Cookies and Correspondence

Thirty-four Meadowbrook residents received a treat in March when they each received a box of Girl Scout cookies courtesy of the Norfolk Library. But each box came with something even sweeter – a pen pal letter written by a Botelle Elementary student. Eileen Fitzgibbons, Children’s Services Coordinator at the Norfolk Library, got the idea for a Cookies and Correspondence partnership when her granddaughter was selling the cookies. Fitzgibbons contacted Botelle, the teachers and students in grades three through six wrote the letters, and the library bought the cookies from Girl Scout Troop 40014 in Norfolk.
