Neighbors happily (distance) gathered on the walkways of downtown Norfolk to enjoy Music on the Meadow, a benefit concert held Saturday, May 15, to support the Botelle 6th grade class trip to Project Oceanology in Groton, Conn. Five acts performed on the new platform over the pond, including Josh DeCerbo & Family, Lion’s Share, Andrew Thomson & Ken Storrs, Trina Hamlin and The Deep North. Botelle parents and student volunteers helped raise $2,021 (perfect for the class of 2021!) by collecting donations and selling merchandise on the plaza. Pictured above in the donation booth are (l-r): Botelle 6th graders Stella Mae Cobb, Alyssa Medina, McKenzie Bannerman and John Prisco. Special thanks to First Selectman Matt Riiska for giving the green light, the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Dept. for providing power, the DeShazo family for running sound, Ginger Prisco and Ann DeCerbo for promotion and donation booth management, all the artists who donated their time and talent and the town of Norfolk for coming together to support a great cause! -Michael Cobb
