Take a Friend Home for the Holidays

Some familiar Norfolk faces—more than two dozen of them—have turned up downtown for the holidays in the form of photographic portraits by Bruce Frisch. Mostly taken over the years on assignment for Norfolk Now, the group captures some classic moments and people. Robin Yuran and Rich Dann celebrate the library’s fifth star with champagne; David Davis joins in the last toast at the Pub; Georgia Johnston sings “Love for Sale” at a benefit staged in Infinity Hall; Cindy and Kirk Sinclair come home tired and triumphant from their transcontinental walk; Vint Lawrence shows off his cartoon of President Clinton playing the saxophone and the Library Associates show off their Norfolk quilt; others, like John Thew, Rosemary Gill, Thaylia Byrne and Carl Gundlach, appear solo. The photos can be viewed at the Guilded Artisan, 3 Station Place, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays through Sundays, until the end of the year.
