Farmer Grants Applications Opens

Have a farm? Have a research idea that could enhance sustainable agriculture? Northeast SARE (Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education) Farmer Grants of up to $30,000 are available for research projects exploring topics such as sustainable farming, crop rotations, no-till and conservation tillage, pest and weed management, on-farm renewable energy, local food systems, pollinators, public education around farming, season extension and much more. 

Approximately $750,000 has been allocated to fund projects for this cycle of Farmer Grants, offering farmers an opportunity to try out sustainable practices that could improve their operations. 

A free informational webinar on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at noon will provide details about SARE grants and the application process. The deadline for applications is Nov. 15. Visit northeast.sare.org or email Vander Gac of Northeast SARE at Vander.Gac@uvm.edu for more information.
