Break-in at Norfolk Liquor Store

Troopers request help in identifying suspects

At 4:45 a.m. on Jan. 11, 2023, forceable entry was made to the Mountain Spirits Liquor Store on John Curtis Road in Norfolk. Video surveillance showed two males who first attempted to jimmy the door open, but when unable to do so, they smashed the window.  They were seen removing boxes of liquor through the broken window and escaped before police arrived. Surveillance video inside the store shows the thieves grabbing bottles from the shelves. The voice of one suspect can be heard. A similar incident happened early the previous day, Jan. 10 at 2:40 a.m. at The Cordial Shop on Railroad Street in North Canaan. The thieves escaped with several bottles of liquor after damaging the front door in the break-in.
