The sun was just peeking through the clouds at 12 p.m. on Aug. 19 when Board of Education member Janet Byrne opened the new big green slide at Botelle School for the kids to try out. A little girl named Chloe was the first to go down the 60-foot slide, with more children lined up to take their turn. A more formal all-school ribbon cutting was scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 31, at 11 a.m. The original slide was damaged by vandals several years ago, but the town was able to use ARPA funds to replace it.
