Two Wheels Bicycles Gears Up in Sheffield
Route 7 shop offers repair and rentals

Norfolk residents will be able to take on the town’s notorious hills with greater ease thanks to a new electric bicycle rental and repair shop just over the Massachusetts border in Sheffield. Those still clinging to the dream of analog, zero-assist bicycles can also rent one or have theirs serviced on-site by owner and biking enthusiast, Josh Webb.
Located at 292 South Main Street, Two Wheels shares a building with The Magic Fluke, an instrument shop specializing in ukuleles that is, perhaps not coincidentally, owned by Webb’s parents, Dale and Phyllis Webb.
Webb grew up in New Hartford and moved to Sheffield in 2010. “Living, working and bicycling here, I felt there was a void in the community for quick-turnaround bike repair and rentals,” he says. “I’ve always wanted to open a bike shop, and it’s been a nice way to expand the use of the space.”
One corner of the shop is dedicated to repair. Says Webb, “I’m pretty much set up to take on repair work for almost any bike, old or new.” He carries or can get parts and components for road, gravel, mountain and e-bikes. He also maintains a selection of tubes, tires, chains and brake pads for sale.
“For rentals, we have a fleet of electric bikes and regular bikes,” Webb continues. Day or half-day rentals are offered and, he says, “We have a number of routes that we can recommend that start right from the shop that get riders off Route 7 and onto more enjoyable roads through Sheffield, Ashley Falls and other scenic areas.”
Webb is a self-described “big advocate for improvements in local cycling infrastructure,” and says he would “love to see more rail trail in Southern Berkshire County.” With Two Wheels, he says, he is excited to simply “help get more people out on bikes.”
Two Wheels is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and weekends by appointment for drop-offs and rentals. Visitors can also drop by The Magic Fluke to strum one of their hand-crafted ukes—putting a new spin on the concept of a tune up.
