Friday Film Series: Visions of Europe
Filmmaker Diego Ongaro will introduce two under-the-radar contemporary European films on Fridays in
April, at 7 p.m.: “Keep an Eye Out” on April 5 and “Swagger” on April 12. Discussion will follow the

Conservation Commission Programs
The Norfolk Conservation Commission will sponsor two talks at the Norfolk Library in April: “Insects in
Peril: Why We Should Care and What We Can Do,” a slide presentation by Susannah Wood, on Saturday,
April 6, at 4 p.m., and an introduction to the new Norfolk Natural Resource Inventory on Thursday, April

Kids Yoga with Wendy at the Norfolk Hub
On Saturday, April 6, from 2 to 3 p.m., kids ages 5 to 12 are invited to the Norfolk Hub for a fun yoga
class taught by Wendy Scanlon of Winsted’s Earthbound Yogi Yoga Center. Children must be
accompanied by a parent or guardian, and it is fine for young children to participate for only the first
half hour.


Art at the Library: Deborah Hanson Greene

Watercolors by Deborah Hanson Greene will be on display at the library during the month of April. A
resident of the Berkshires, Greene paints primarily still-life studies and landscapes en plein air. A
reception for the artist will be hosted by the Library Associates on Sunday, April 7, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Solar Eclipse Glasses
The Norfolk Library has a supply of ISO total solar eclipse glasses in children’s and adult sizes. Stop by in
advance of the solar eclipse on April 8 for a free pair.


Meet-Up with Botelle Admins

On Tuesday, April 9, from 6 to 7 p.m., Botelle School Superintendent Mary Beth Iacobelli and Principal
Lauren Valentino invite the community for an informal forum at the Norfolk Hub.


Mindfulness Series with Miranda Lee
April is stress awareness month, and it’s a great time to discuss what stress is and how to manage it
using meditation, movement and breath-work. Mindfulness practitioner Miranda Lee continues her
classes via Zoom from 9:15 to 10 a.m. on Fridays. Sponsored by the Norfolk Library, it is open to all to

Documentary Film: “Herd”

Filmmaker Michel Negroponte will be at the Norfolk Library on Saturday, April 13, at 5:30 p.m., to

CPR Training with Jim Hutchison
The public (ages 12 and above) are invited to learn hands-only CPR, how to use a defibrillator (AED) and
how to administer Narcan on Tuesday, April 16, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the Norfolk Hub. Registration
required.


Decluttering Class
Join Nancy Deutsch, the Empathic Organizer, at the Hub on Friday, April 19, from 2 to 3 p.m., to learn
how to turn decluttering challenges into a satisfying archeological dig of uncovering, recovering and
discovering.


Books & Boots Hike

The Books & Boots hike will be held Saturday, April 20, at 10 a.m., along the Billings Trail’s Tait Section.
Hartley Mead and Bina Thomson will lead the group in assessing the trail’s animal crossings while
discussing Ben Goldfarb’s book “Crossings.” It is not necessary to have read the book first, and all hiking
abilities are welcome. This Norfolk Library program is in partnership with the Norfolk Land Trust as part

Annual Spring Clean-Up Day
Help refresh the town after a long winter. The Norfolk Conservation Commission’s annual Norfolk clean-
up day will be Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to noon. Meet at the Norfolk Hub, and bring a pair of work
gloves.


Gardening 101
The Norfolk Library will host the Litchfield Master Gardener team on Sunday, April 28, at 2 p.m., for

Earth Day Recycling

Drop off used sneakers at the Norfolk Hub anytime during the month of April for recycling.

April Passport to Libraries
Pick up a passport from the Norfolk Library and collect stamps from at least five participating
Connecticut libraries by May 10. Return your passport to be entered into a statewide drawing for a $200
Visa gift card.


Teen Job Fair
The Teen Advisory Council at the Norfolk Library will host a Teen Job Fair on Saturday, May 11, from 3 to
4:30 p.m. The event is an opportunity for local businesses to find part-time and seasonal employees
aged 15 to 19. The event is free for both employers and teens. Employers interested in participating can
contact the library at thenorfolklibrary@gmail.com to reserve a spot.
