Art Exhibit at the Hub—Sean Sweeney
Artist Sean Sweeney will show his mixed media works at the Norfolk Hub gallery space from Nov. 3 to Dec. 18. “Echoes & Vibrations” uses paint, printmaking and collage to reflect energy interacting with nature. A reception will be held on Sunday, Nov. 3, from 3 to 5 p.m.

Jessica Bartlet Exhibit at the Library
“Changing Colors” by Jessica Bartlet will be on display at the Norfolk Library from Nov. 2 to Dec. 4. Bartlet brings the drama of outside into her landscape paintings. The Library Associates will host a reception on Sunday, Nov. 3, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Holiday Crafting Pop-Up
Artist Leslie Watkins presents a holiday arts and crafts pop-up from Nov. 1-17 for making cards, gift boxes, tags and more. Classes at 3 Station Place will include papercrafting, watercolor and calligraphy. New Lights on Memorial Green
On Monday, Nov. 11, at 4 p.m., Veterans Day will be celebrated with a relighting of Norfolk’s newly restored World War I memorial, sponsored by the Norfolk Community Association.

Covering Conflict: Journalists on the Ground
For Veterans Day, the Norfolk Library will host two documentary films featuring war-time journalists. “Dateline Saigon” will be shown on Friday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m., followed by Q&A with correspondents Jim Sterba and Frances Fitzgerald.

“No Ordinary Life: The Camerawomen Who Brought the Frontlines to the Headlines” will be screened on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 4:30 p.m., followed by Q&A with camerawoman Cynde Strand. Please visit norfolklibrary.org or call 860-542-5075 to register.

Isabella Stewart Gardner Slide Talk

Veterans Day Assembly at Botelle
The annual Botelle School Veterans Day Assembly will take place on Monday, Nov. 11, at 10:30 a.m. The event, honoring area veterans, includes performances by the students. A PTO-hosted lunch will follow, and all are welcome.

Polished Stones Pop-Up
Joe Hurst will have a pop-up featuring his polished stones in the Royal Arcanum building from Nov. 25 to Dec. 24, Thursdays through Sundays, from noon to 6 p.m. He works with precious and semi-precious gemstones and also creates lamps and vases in granite, marble and agate.

Classic Bette Davis Film Series
The Bette Davis film series at the Norfolk Library, introduced by author Robert Dance, continues on Friday, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m., with “Now, Voyager” (1942).

Irish Fiddler at the Library
Irish fiddler Gerry O’Connor will perform at the Norfolk Library on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 5:30 p.m. O’Connor is regarded as one of the great fiddle players of his generation. Register for this free event at norfolklibrary.org or by calling 860-542-5075.

Mindfulness Series with Miranda Lee
Learn how to use mindfulness tools in daily life with Miranda Lee on Saturdays this month. November’s theme is “The Benefits of Gratitude.” Sponsored by the Norfolk Library, this course is offered via Zoom from 9:15 to 10 a.m. Anyone can join at any time. Aija Pop-Up Returns for the Holidays
Aija, Bella Erder’s shop offering jewelry, accessories and other gifts, will return as a pop-up from Nov. 29 to Dec. 22 in the Royal Arcanum Building. Store hours will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday through Sunday. Additionally, Robin Yuran’s oil pastels series entitled “Fogbottom Vale” will be exhibited at Aija. A reception with Yuran will be held on Saturday, Nov. 30, from 3-5 p.m.

Annual Carol Sing
Welcome the holidays at the Norfolk Library Annual Carol Sing on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served, followed by a tree lighting on the green and a visit by Santa Claus via fire engine.
