Before packing the car for Tobey Pond or hauling the last of spring cleaning to the transfer station, residents should be sure to update their permit stickers.

New 2025-26 permits for the Norfolk Transfer Station must be purchased by July 1 and displayed on the passenger side of the vehicle. They are $100 for the first vehicle and $80 for additional vehicles in the same household.

Parking stickers for the town beach at Tobey Pond are $85 per vehicle; $60 for seniors.
Those with a four-legged companion should also be aware that all dogs over six months of age need a state license and current rabies vaccination. The State of Connecticut favors the sterilized: license tags for neutered/spayed dogs are $8; others are $19. Renewals are required by June 30, and there is $1 penalty each month thereafter.
