Read, Make Things, Have Fun!

The Norfolk Library has chosen a theme for this year’s summer reading program: “Color Our World.” Children and families are invited to meander down a path of art and creativity, embracing various ways that art, nature, science and movement can “color our world”—as demonstrated by Eli Strumolo, above. Children will receive a whimsical reading log filled with fun challenges to help them maintain and enhance their literacy skills—as well as enjoy reading. Special thematic events have been scheduled for Monday evenings at 5:30 p.m., to which all are welcome: Umbrella Art Project with artist Erika Crofut (July 7); Lego Vehicle Challenge with the Children’s Museum (July 14); Sova Puppet Workshop (July 21); Tie-dye Apron Workshop with artist Hilary VanWright (July 28). Some programs have limited space, so please register at the Norfolk Library website www.norfolklibrary.org or call front desk circulation 860-542-5075 ext. 2.
