Andrew Thomson to Perform
The Colebrook Historical Society will sponsor a concert by noted musician and Norfolk native Andrew Thomson on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 4 p.m. He and an associate will perform Scotttish and Irish music (using four to five different sets of pipes) interspersed with stories and humor. The concert will be held at the Colebrook Meeting House, aka the Colebrook Congregational Church, located on the green in Colebrook Center. Admission is free. All are most welcome.
Spay and Neuter Clinic at CT State Northwestern
CT State Northwestern and Noble Deeds will hold veterinary clinics at the Joyner Health Services Center at 100 South Main Street in Winsted on Nov. 6, Nov. 13, Nov. 17 and Nov. 24. Pet owners will drop off the animals in the morning and pick them up same day in the afternoon. Vaccinations are also available, at an extra cost. All procedures are by appointment only. Norfolk Food Pantry Change to Days of Service and Service Area
The Norfolk Food Pantry, housed in Battell Chapel at Church of Christ UCC is now open each week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (not Fridays) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Starting Tuesday, Nov. 11, the Food Pantry will only be able to serve residents of Norfolk, Winsted, Canaan and Colebrook. Santa is Coming Back to Norfolk
After you’ve stuffed yourself with turkey and pie, come kick off the holiday season with some small-town magic on the Village Green, Nov. 29. At 6 p.m. sharp, Santa will make his grand entrance on the Fire Engine Sleigh of Lights. He will hand out candy canes to kids and help light up the town tree. Bring your family and your holiday spirit and don’t forget your camera—Santa will be available for photos with the kids.
Mindfulness Series with Miranda Lee
Learn how to use Mindfulness tools in your daily life as Miranda Lee resumes her weekly classes on Saturdays from 9:15 -10 a.m. with the theme Benefits of Gratitude. Sponsored by the Norfolk Library, this course is offered via Zoom. Anyone can join at any time. Chapel Coffeehouse—“The Ways We Served”
Join us for an evening of stories celebrating veterans on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in Battell Chapel, with drinks and desserts. Admission is free. 33rd Annual Breakfast with Santa
The Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department invites you and your family to join us for our 33rd Annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, from 7 to 10 a.m. at Battell Chapel. The family-style breakfast buffet will feature scrambled eggs, home fries, pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage, orange juice and coffee. Adults $13, Seniors $10, Children under 12 $8, Children under 5 free. Santa will be there to greet the kids!
Celtic and Americana Music at the Library
On Saturday, Nov. 15, at 5:30 p.m., contemporary folk duo Rakish will perform a concert of Celtic and Americana music a Library. Fiddler Maura Shawn Scanlin, acclaimed for her expressive playing, was raised in North Carolina’s Appalachian Mountains. Guitarist Conor Hearn grew up steeped in the Irish music scene. The pair’s deep musical connection and love for pushing traditional sounds forward is striking. Annual Carol Sing
Welcome the holidays at the Norfolk Library Annual Carol Sing on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served, followed by the lighting of the tree on the green and a visit by Santa Claus on the fire engine. No registration necessary.
Dance for Fun Class Returns
A new dance class led by Kristin Mudge has started at Battell Chapel on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. No prior dance experience needed— just a love of moving to lively, energetic music. Anne Makepeace Film
In recognition of Native American heritage month, the award-winning documentary film Coming to Light will be screened at Norfolk Library on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 5:30 p.m. The film will be introduced by its director, Anne Makepeace, who has been a writer, producer, and director of award-winning independent films for more three decades. It’s that time of year again! For 20 years, we’ve been bringing you the best singers in Norfolk—and this year marks our 21st Annual Karaoke Night! Bring your best voice on Saturday, Nov. 22 from 8 p.m. to midnight at The Norfolk Pub. Make your dinner reservations early as we always fill the house. Walk-ins are welcome. $10 donation at the door.
