Selectman’s Corner

Tirrell Enthusiastic About New Norfolk Role

By Henry Tirrell

First off, I want to thank Matt Riiska for his eight years of service as first selectman and for his previous and ongoing volunteerism in the town of Norfolk. I know how much time and effort he put into the job, especially through some challenging times.

As I begin this new role, I am incredibly awed and thankful for all the help and support that I have been given as first selectman of this special town. I am regularly impressed by the many dedicated people and the amazing work that gets done here.

Looking forward, I am focused on doing everything needed to get the new firehouse project started in its next phase, which should be getting underway as you read this. A lot of people put in considerable time and effort to get us to this point, and while there is a lot more to come, we are excited to start seeing some physical progress.

There will be many more projects and updates, but for now keep in mind that the snow and ice will come soon. Our road crew will be out clearing up whatever gets thrown at us. Remember to take it slow and help out your neighbors this time of year. Everyone has their own struggles and even the smallest acts of kindness bring great cheer.

I am thankful for all of you, this amazing home called Norfolk and the
opportunities ahead.
